This organisation was formed in 2002 and became a registered Charity in October 2002.
The main objectives are to look after areas within the Village to improve natural wildlife habitat and enhance the areas for Villagers and visitors to enjoy. All residents of Howwood are members of HWW.
There are currently ten active members of HWW and we are always looking for people to help us out – no experience in gardening is necessary.
Our main meeting day is Wednesday at 10.00am weather permitting.
If you are interested in helping out come along or contact Bill David, Millar Leon or Roger Brown.
HWW currently looks after
- Rhombus Community Garden (area opposite The Boarding House)
- The Isthmus, (area beside the Bus Stop next to the Garage)
- The raised Beds in the Triangle and the five Flower Tubs at the five roads leading into the Village
The Rhombus Community Garden does take up a lot of time and effort but provides an attractive area for people to relax and unwind.
The raised Beds and the Fence Containers can be exceptionally dazzling.
