What's on in Howwood 2014
Howwood Wildlife & Woodlands in conjunction with Howwood Community Council-
Community Tree Planting Day
Thanks to a supply of sapling trees donated to HWW by the Woodland Trust a special community tree planting day has been arranged for Saturday 29 March 2014. Meeting at the Rhombus Garden (opposite the Howwood Inn) at 10am.
All welcome, including accompanied children, to help out with the planting. You may recall that we planted over 100 saplings in 2011 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and that this was achieved in under 1 hour. This time we are celebrating the forthcoming Commonwealth Games and have over 300 saplings, including Rowan, Hazel, Hawthorn and Birch, to plant so we need a good turn out to beat the previous record. Please dress in old cloths suitable for the weather and bring gardening gloves and a spade or similar digging tool.
HWW is a registered Scottish Charity, Number SC033831 and supports environmental projects in Howwood including looking after the pathway walking routes and both community gardens. Your support is vital.
